HOCUT® 5050 is a fully synthetic, boron-free and formaldehyde-free water soluble metalworking fluid specifically engineered for surface and cylindrical grinding of ferrous materials — including cast iron and roll grinding applications. The mineral oil-free, transparent solution provides outstanding tramp oil rejection, extremely low foam, excellent corrosion protection and long sump life. REACh 2018 compliant with an excellent EHS profile — free of boron, formaldehyde releaser biocide, chlorine, secondary amines, MEA and phenol. Rejects tramp oil completely — providing excellent component visibility with no spoilage of coolant. Critical for grinding operations where tramp oil contamination reduces surface finish quality and shortens sump life.

Extremely low foam without antifoam additives — maintaining consistent coolant delivery to the grinding zone and preventing the coolant pump cavitation and coverage loss caused by foam build-up in high-pressure grinding systems.
Excellent Detergency
Extended wheel life and improved surface finish — the synthetic formula's superior detergency keeps the grinding wheel face clean, preventing loading that reduces cutting efficiency and surface finish quality in roll and surface grinding.
Excellent Corrosion Protection
Lower reject rate and less machine maintenance — the high quality corrosion inhibitor package protects ferrous workpieces and machine surfaces from rust during and between machining operations.
Rapid Fines Separation
Excellent filterability with extended filter life — rapid separation of grinding swarf and metallic fines reduces filter consumption, maintains coolant cleanliness and extends sump life between changes.
Outstanding EHS Profile
Free of boron (no SVHC under REACh), formaldehyde releaser biocide, chlorine, secondary amines, MEA (TRGs 900) and phenol. REACh 2018 compliant — protecting operator health and simplifying workplace compliance.
Applications
Surface Grinding
Ferrous materials including cast iron and steel — 4 to 8% concentration depending on operation severity.
Cylindrical Grinding
OD and ID cylindrical grinding of ferrous components where transparent coolant and tramp oil rejection are critical.
Roll Grinding
Steel mill roll grinding — the primary design application for HOCUT 5050 where sump life, filtration efficiency and surface finish are paramount.
