Mobilgard™ 570 is a premium quality, extra high performance marine diesel engine cylinder oil designed to optimise the performance of two-stroke slow-speed crosshead engines operating on heavy fuel oil (HFO) with a sulphur content of up to 3.5%. With a TBN of 70 mgKOH/g, Mobilgard 570 provides powerful acid neutralisation and outstanding deposit control — helping operators extend periods between overhauls, reduce liner and ring wear and maintain cleaner engines throughout the service life. Mobilgard 570 has received No Objection Letters from MAN Diesel & Turbo, Wärtsilä and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and is suitable for the majority of two-stroke crosshead engines in operation today. Resists thermal degradation under the extreme combustion temperatures of slow-speed two-stroke HFO engines — reducing deposits and sludge formation and keeping piston crowns, liners and ring zones clean for extended periods.
Exceptional Anti-Wear & Anti-Scuffing Control
Outstanding anti-wear properties lead to potentially reduced liner and ring wear and excellent anti-scuffing control — extending the interval between cylinder liner replacements and reducing the total cost of cylinder maintenance per voyage.
Outstanding Detergency & Deposit Control
High detergency capability keeps pistons and liners clean — preventing the piston undercrown deposits and ring groove fouling that cause ring sticking, increased blowby and reduced engine efficiency in HFO-fuelled slow-speed engines.
High TBN Reserve — Acid Neutralisation
TBN of 70 mgKOH/g provides powerful neutralisation of the sulphuric acid formed from combustion of high-sulphur heavy fuel oil — protecting cylinder liners and rings from the corrosive wear that is the primary failure mode in HFO-fuelled engines.
Helps Improve Low Corrosion Conditions
Can help improve operation of engines suffering from low levels of corrosion — providing additional protection for vessels transitioning between fuel grades or operating in conditions that result in below-normal liner temperatures and increased corrosion risk.
