Mobilgear 600 XP 320

Extra High-Performance Industrial Gear Oil | ISO VG 320 | DIN 51517-3 CLP

ISO VG 320 AGMA 6 EP DIN 51517-3 CLP 320 Flender Approved SEW-Eurodrive Approved

Product Overview

Mobilgear 600 XP 320 is an extra high-performance mineral industrial gear oil formulated for enclosed gear drives requiring ISO VG 320 lubrication. Specified for heavily loaded, slower-speed gearboxes operating under sustained torque and elevated temperature conditions, ISO 320 is the natural step up from ISO 220 where higher load, reduced operating speed or elevated sump temperatures demand a thicker protective film.

In South African mining and processing plant operations, Mobilgear 600 XP 320 is widely used in large conveyor head drives under high load, crusher auxiliary drives, extruder and press gearboxes, and any enclosed gearbox where the OEM nameplate specifies ISO VG 320, AGMA 6 EP or DIN 51517-3 CLP 320. Its formulation delivers outstanding extreme-pressure protection, FZG Stage 10 micropitting resistance and superior bearing protection across the full service interval.

Approved by Flender (Siemens), SEW-Eurodrive, ZF and meeting AGMA 9005-F16, DIN 51517-3, DIN 51517-4 and ISO 12925-1 — Mobilgear 600 XP 320 covers a wide range of industrial gearbox OEM specifications. Always confirm the required ISO VG grade from the gearbox nameplate or OEM manual before ordering.

Key Performance Benefits

High Load Capacity

ISO 320 viscosity delivers a thicker protective film under high contact stress — essential for heavily loaded, slower-speed gearboxes where boundary lubrication conditions prevail and adequate film thickness is critical to prevent metal-to-metal contact.

Micropitting Protection

FZG micropitting Stage 10 / High rating — protects hardened gear tooth surfaces against surface fatigue initiated by high contact stress, preventing the progressive damage that leads to gearbox failure in crusher and conveyor drives.

Superior Bearing Protection

FE 8 roller wear of just 2 mg — up to 15 times better than the industry baseline. Critical for large, expensive bearings in mining and processing plant gearboxes where bearing replacement represents significant cost and downtime.

Thermal & Oxidation Stability

Excellent resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation at bulk oil temperatures up to 100°C — extends lubricant life and reduces scheduled drain frequency in continuous-operation gearboxes running extended shift cycles.

Typical Applications

Mobilgear 600 XP 320 is recommended where the gearbox OEM specifies ISO VG 320, AGMA 6 EP or DIN 51517-3 CLP 320. Typical applications include heavily loaded, slower-speed enclosed gearboxes across mining, manufacturing and processing plant environments:

Mining & Processing Plants

Large conveyor head drives under high load · Crusher auxiliary and feed drives · Thickener and clarifier drives · Screen drives under heavy loading · Processing plant gearboxes in elevated temperature environments

Manufacturing & Industry

Extruder and press gearboxes · Heavy-duty mixer and agitator drives · Steel mill auxiliary gearboxes · Rubber and plastics processing drives · Paper and pulp mill gearboxes under sustained load

Marine Gearing

Heavily loaded marine auxiliary gearboxes · Deck machinery under high torque · Winch and windlass drives · Crane and hoist gearboxes in marine environments

Non-Gear Applications

Shaft couplings under high load · Heavily loaded plain and rolling contact bearings at slow speed · Screw drives and high-torque mechanical components requiring EP protection

ISO 220 vs ISO 320 — which do I need? If your gearbox nameplate specifies ISO VG 320, use ISO 320 — do not substitute ISO 220. The higher viscosity provides a thicker protective film required by the OEM for the specific gear geometry, speed and load of that gearbox. Substituting a lower grade risks inadequate film thickness under load and accelerated wear. Contact Orbit Industrial if you are unsure which grade applies.
