Mobil Delvac MX™ 15W-40 is an extra high performance diesel engine oil formulated to meet the rigorous demands of today's high-output, low-emission diesel engines — while providing equally robust protection for legacy and older diesel equipment. Combining high-performance base stocks with a precisely balanced additive system, it delivers outstanding oxidation resistance, soot dispersancy, TBN retention and wear protection across modern turbocharged engines, mixed fleets, on-highway trucks and off-highway applications. Meets or exceeds the requirements of virtually all major European and American engine manufacturers. TBN of 9.2 mgKOH/g provides sustained acid neutralisation — critical for South African fleets operating on higher-sulphur diesel. Protects against corrosive wear throughout the drain interval.
Stay-In-Grade Shear Stability
Viscosity remains stable under mechanical shear stress, maintaining the optimal oil film thickness between moving components throughout the service interval — guaranteeing wear protection from first start to oil change.
Advanced Soot Management
Superior dispersancy prevents soot agglomeration that causes viscosity increase, filter plugging and abrasive wear. Maintains used oil pumpability for reliable cold-weather starts and consistent lubrication at operating temperature.
Excellent Low-Temperature Performance
Pour Point of -36°C and Cold-Cranking Simulator viscosity of 5,800 mPa.s at -20°C ensures rapid oil circulation on cold starts — dramatically reducing start-up wear that accounts for the majority of engine life degradation.
