Product Overview
Mobil Rarus SHC 1026 is a supreme performance synthetic air compressor lubricant formulated from wax-free synthetic hydrocarbon (PAO) base stocks for the lubrication of severe duty rotary screw and vane air compressors. As the ISO VG 68 grade in the Rarus SHC 1020 Series, it is specifically engineered for compressors operating at high discharge temperatures, under severe duty conditions, or where mineral oil-based compressor oils are not meeting expectations in terms of oil life, deposit formation or maintenance costs.
The synthetic PAO base stock delivers exceptional resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation — far superior to mineral oil-based air compressor oils — enabling extended oil drain intervals, significantly reduced deposit and coking formation, and cleaner compressor operation. The flash point of 246°C and high autogeneous ignition temperature also meaningfully reduce the risk of compressor fires and explosions compared to mineral oil products.
Mobil Rarus SHC 1026 is suitable for continuous high-temperature operation with discharge temperatures up to 200°C — a capability that separates it from mineral compressor oils and makes it the correct choice for heavily loaded compressors in mining, processing plant and industrial operations running extended shift cycles. Compatible with all metals used in compressor construction and with conventional mineral oil-based compressor oils.
