Product Data Sheet
Why AQUALINK® HT804F VER2 is Built for HP/HT Subsea Service
Conventional subsea control fluids are not engineered for the extreme pressures and temperatures encountered in HP/HT wells. AQUALINK® HT804F VER2 is formulated for wells with reservoir pressure from 10,000 psi up to 15,000 psi (689 to 1,034 bar), with thermal stability up to 160°C and a well temperature rating of up to 177°C (350°F). Used neat, it offers low viscosity, high lubricity and consistent performance across long-distance electro-hydraulic control umbilicals.
Features & Benefits
| Feature | Advantage & Operational Benefit |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 HP/HT formulation — 10,000 to 15,000 psi, up to 177°C | Qualified for demanding deepwater production well conditions, both conventional and high-temperature |
| Ready-to-use, biodegradable water-glycol formulation | Environmentally acceptable for maximum discharge; exceeds US-EPA toxicity requirements as specified in NPDES permit for subsea control fluids |
| Thermal stability up to 160°C | Maintains performance in high-temperature subsea production environments |
| Compatible with completion brines — Potassium Formate, Calcium Bromide, Zinc Bromide, Calcium Chloride | Tolerates brine contamination without system upsets — critical in HP/HT wells where brine ingress is a common operational risk |
| Excellent ferrous and non-ferrous corrosion protection, even in the presence of seawater | Protects subsea control system metalwork across the full range of materials used in deepwater production equipment |
| Resists glycolic and hydrochloric acid | Maintains fluid integrity in the presence of common well-treatment chemicals |
| Resistant to bacterial and fungal growth | Maintains fluid integrity over an extended service life without biocide treatment |
| Fluorescent leak trace dye | Enables rapid identification of system leaks during ROV inspection and surface monitoring — minimising leak detection time and environmental discharge risk |
| Fully compatible with current water-based subsea control fluids | Simplifies system topping-up and fluid transitions on existing installations |
| D rating with Cefas (UK); Yellow rating with Add Novatech (Norway) — no sub warnings | Environmentally compliant for discharge under UK and Norwegian regulated-waters frameworks |
