Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a zinc-free engine oil required for railroad locomotive engines?

Railroad locomotive engines from GE and EMD use silver bearings that are corroded by zinc-containing additives. Raillub ZF 20W-40 is formulated without zinc to protect these silver bearings while delivering outstanding detergency, TBN retention and thermo-oxidative stability.

What LMOA generation does Raillub ZF 20W-40 meet?

Rymax Raillub ZF 20W-40 meets LMOA Generation 5 quality standards - the requirement for modern railroad diesel locomotive engines from General Electric (GE) and Electro Motive Division (EMD) of General Motors.

Can Raillub ZF 20W-40 be used in marine and stationary engines?

Yes. Suitable for marine and stationary engines for power generation or offshore drilling requiring zinc-free oils, Detroit Diesel 149 series engines under severe conditions, and stationary engines requiring API CF and CF-2 quality oils.

Is Raillub ZF 20W-40 available in South Africa?
