Lithium Complex Grease
Lithium complex grease uses a lithium complex thickener rather than standard lithium soap, giving it a higher dropping point, better high-temperature performance and improved water resistance. It is widely specified for heavy-duty bearing applications where standard EP2 grease is insufficient.

Mobilgrease XHP 222
Lithium complex marine and industrial grease. Distinctive dark blue colour for easy visual verification of coverage. Recommended for winch and windlass, deck grease applications and electrical motor bearings. Excellent water washout resistance and load-carrying properties.
NLGI 2, Gray-Black, 5% Moly
Mobilgrease XHP 322 Mine
Lithium complex grease containing 5% molybdenum disulfide for extra heavy-duty off-highway and mining equipment. Excellent EP and anti-wear properties, exceptional resistance to water washout and spray-off. Recommended for bucket pins, pivot pins and heavily loaded chassis components.

Higher viscosity lithium complex grease for heavier duty applications requiring improved load-carrying capability where standard grades may be insufficient.

Synthetic lithium complex grease, ISO VG 460 base fluid. Understanding Lithium Complex Grease
What Makes It 'Complex'
A lithium complex thickener combines lithium soap with a co-thickener, raising the dropping point well above standard lithium grease and improving high-temperature and load-carrying performance.
Lithium Complex vs EP2
Standard EP2 grease uses conventional lithium soap. Lithium complex grease offers a higher dropping point, better mechanical stability and improved water resistance — suited to more demanding bearing applications.
Lithium Complex vs Moly Grease
Lithium complex grease is best suited to rolling element bearings. For slow-moving, heavily shock-loaded components like pins and bushings, moly grease's solid MoS₂ lubricant offers additional protection.
